Tiye was the name of several royal Egyptian women. One of them was Tiye the Great Royal Wife of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III of Egypt (of the Eighteenth Dynasty 1550-1292 BC). She was the mother of
Akhenaten and grandmother of Tutankhamun.

Possibly a pet name for the given name Nefertari as well.
