The lovely American novelist-actress and prize-winning poet Vanna Bonta was aptly given this Renaissance name by her mother, a Florentine painter.

Trivia: Vanna Bonta was christened with her name in the exact same spot as the poet Dante Alighieri in the famous Baptistery of Florence, Italy. The Renaissance name Vanna (pronounced VAHn'na) historically first appears in Dante's "La Vita Nuova" (The New Life).
