Vedant

It is a Sanskrit name and has a variety of meanings depending on the grammatical device (Samasa) used to unravel it. All the meanings bear some reference to the Vedas which are ancient Hindu holy texts.

using the Bahuvrihi Samasa:

Vedant = Vedaah Sarve arambhaat antam avaiti iti Vedant (The one who knows the Vedas from beginning to end.)

using the Tatpurush Samasa:

Vedant = VedaayaaH antae bhavati iti Vedant (The one that occurs at the end of the Vedas.)
