Comments for the name Vi

Reverend Shaw Moore's wife in the musical/movie Footloose. She sings the most beautiful songs in the show, Learning to Be Silent and Can You Find it in Your Heart.

Far too minimalist. Doesn't sound like a very mature ir sophisticated name. You can always call your daughter this, but it would be better to name her Violet. This is a lousy official first name, or a middle name.

It can also be used as a short form of Vivien.

I quite like Vi as an informal nickname for many longer names, including Violet, Vivienne, Virginia and Victoria.

Personally, I can't see myself naming a daughter this as a first name. But maybe as like a middle name ... I could see me doing that.

Just because a name is on here doesn't mean people actually give it to their children! There are a lot of nicknames on this site, that doesn't mean they're used as full names. I don't think anyone would actually name their child vi as a full name, but its a cute nickname for violet :)
