Victoria means "winner conqueror".

This name is one of the best names of Roman origin. Its srong relation to "victory" in pronunciation and meaning makes it particularly suitable for young baby girls. The association with Victoria's secret as a reason not to name your child this way is utterly naive!

My name's Victoria (called Tory) and I've always liked it and its meaning. My parents chose it because they thought it was strong and was associated with a queen. Other than one or two comments in middle school of "Victoria, do you have a secret?", the Victoria Secret connection wasn't a problem.

My name is Victoria and I go by Tori. I guess it's ok, but I hate when people try to call me Vicki. Or Icki Vicki.

Reminds me a very pretty girl and delicate young woman.

Besides being its meaning, Victory is its modern form, too.
