Vito is read Vee-toh in Spanish and Italian. The only problem I have with this name is that it sounds like pito, and in Spanish pito means dick. (There's also pene.) Yeah, so I won't be using this name.

In Croatia (or more precisely - in coastal parts of Croatia) this name can be considered rather archaic - still, in last five-six years its reusage is notable! I like it too.

It's nice as a nickname, but not strong enough as a full name. I've met a boy named Vittorio who went by Vito.
Cool name (only for Italians or Hispanics, of course!) I don't really think it would be that big of a problem, but it sounds like the English word veto.
