Willem, I think, is a great name. It's got a great meaning and I think it sounds good. My cousin is named Willem, and I'm pretty sure it's for one of our ancestors who came from Germany to America. It's always been said with the W sound in my family.-- skatergirl2 7/27/2006
I love the name Willem, especially with the middle name Jan. In my family it has been used alternatingly with Roelof Philip in naming the oldest son except for my uncle it became Americanized to William and then my aunt wasn't too keen on the name Roelof. In doing this other members of my family have surrendered the rights to this name. I am definitely using it.-- Anonymous User 3/4/2007
