I know a Chinese family who's last name is Xue.

I worked with a woman from Taiwan named Xue, and her pronunciation of it was right in-between "shway" & "soo-eh" . The initial consonant very soft. It was very tricky to say for an English-only speaker, but a very beautiful sounding name.
