Russian form of the Greek name Ευπραξια (Eupraxia), which was derived from Greek ευ "good" and πραξις (praxis) "action, exercise". This was the name of a daughter of Vsevolod I, Grand Prince of Kiev, who became the wife of the Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV.
