Yoko Fujita (藤田 陽子, Fujita Yōko, born 10 June 1980, in Nara Prefecture) is a Japanese actress, singer, and model. She is represented by Humanitè.

How has NO ONE thought of Yoko Shimomura (下村 陽子 Shimomura Yōko)? She is one of the most prolific video game composers of this era, with like, Super Mario RPG, the Mario & Luigi series, the Kingdom Hearts series, Final Fantasy XV, and Xenoblade Chronicles to her name. Every video gamer who has played at least the Super Mario RPG would know her name.

Yoko Yazawa is a Japanese singer-songwriter, formerly the lead vocalist of The Generous. She is Eikichi Yazawa's eldest daughter, and her mother is one quarter American. While she was 12, she went to school in Los Angeles at the Ojai Valley School and Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. In 2010, she made her solo debut with her self-titled album. She is also featured on Joe Inoue's album Dos Angeles as a featured vocalist on the song "Animal"; the two singers originally met in high school in Los Angeles. Yoko Kanno is a Japanese composer, arranger and musician best known for her work on the soundtracks on anime films, television series, live-action films, video games, and advertisements. She was born in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. She has written scores for Cowboy Bebop, Darker than Black, Macross Plus, Turn A Gundam, The Vision of Escaflowne, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Wolf's Rain, Kids on the Slope, Zankyō no Terror, and has worked with the directors Yoshiyuki Tomino, Shinichiro Watanabe and Shoji Kawamori. Kanno has also composed music for pop artists Maaya Sakamoto and Kyōko Koizumi. She is also a keyboardist, and is the frontwoman for the Seatbelts, who perform many of Kanno's compositions and soundtracks.

Yoko Watanabe was a Japanese operatic soprano who spent much of her career singing the title role of Madame Butterfly all over Europe.She was also known for her large repertoire including such works as Micaela in Carmen, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Marguerite in Faust and Amelia in Verdi's Simon Boccanegra. Watanabe died after a long battle with cancer in her Milan home at the age of 51.
Yoko Kikuchi is a fourth-generation American artist and singer/songwriter of Japanese and Filipino descent, associated with the Antifolk community of New York's East Village. Born in New York City to parents involved in the visual arts, she was raised in SoHo and Hell's Kitchen, attending public schools including Wagner JHS 167 and Stuyvesant High School. It was at those schools where she met Ann Zakaluk, with whom she co-fronted the Antifolk indie pop band Dream Bitches between 2004 and 2009. Although she is self-taught on the guitar, her ear for harmonies is due to her ten-year involvement in the Young People's Chorus of New York City, directed by Francisco J. Núñez, with which she toured and competed both nationally and internationally.
Yoko Takahi is a Japanese singer, perhaps best known for performing (Zankoku na tenshi no tēze, "A Cruel Angel's Thesis"), the opening theme tune of the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. She also performs the closing theme, an "acid bossa" version of "FLY ME TO THE MOON" and (Tamashii no Rufuran, Refrain of Soul), the closing theme of Evangelion: Death and Rebirth. She also recently performed "Metamorphose," the opening theme to studio Gainax's 20th anniversary series, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, the ending theme (Yoake Umarekuru Shoujo) for the anime(Shakugan no Shana) and the opening theme Aoki Flamme (Pumpkin Scissors).
Yoko Takahashi is a Japanese female mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter and kickboxer and former boxer and professional wrestler. Takahashi is a former Smackgirl open weight champion. She is considered Japan's first female mixed martial artist. Takahashi debuted as a professional wrestler with All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling (AJWPW) promotion in 1994 and kept participating until the end of 1996, when she decided not to continue with professional wrestling due to a hernia in her back. She became a part-time referee for promotion Yoshimoto Pro-Wrestling Jd', where she met her long-time partner Megumi Yabushita. They both left Jd' in 2002.

John Lennon did use the phrase "ocean child" in reference to Yoko in Julia. The song is as much about Yoko as it is about Julia.
