From Japanese 結 (yu) meaning "tie, bind, contract, join, organize, do up hair, fasten" or 友 (yu) meaning "friend", 也 (ya) meaning "also", 哉 (ya), an exclamation or 弥 (ya) meaning "all the more, increasingly" combined with 子 (ko) meaning "child". This name can be formed of different kanji characters as well.
