After watching "Zombies", I found out that Zed only calls himself by his nickname. Ironically, this would also mean that the zombie was at least half Jewish. Since nuclear zombies traditionally have "Horror Hunger", unless Zed was a strict vegetarian or Greek Orthodox by practice, his sources of protein would be very limited. Judaism forbids pork and shelled seafood, and, needless to say, nearly every world religion disapproves of cannibalism.

I quite like it because it's unusual, but I suppose it wouldn't be that great if you had to keep spelling out your name on the phone but then people still kept getting it wrong.

Kind of a neat name, Zed is an okay nickname, it would be an ice breaker in a conversation with his name.
