I love this name. It is so unusual. My Aunt Shea named her son Zimri Matthias Padraig.

Though this name has a nice meaning, it is not used amongst Jews as the original Zimri was a tribal leader who rebelled against G-d.

I love this name. I named my saxophone "Zimri Orpheus" because I wanted his name to be related to music and Zimri was my favorite.

There were two different Zimri's in the Bible. The other was the Prince of the Simeon tribe who was murdered while having sex. (To make a long story short)
He was a martyr and hero. And wasn't the battle with King Omri the first battle for the Lord? In Old Aramaic there were no words for good or evil.
I also heard the name Zimri meant psalm of the Lord.
