It is Ibrahimović not Ibrahimovich. His mother is Croat and his father is Bosnian.

Actually, the name means "golden", not "gold". You also fail to mention that name is used in Bosnia and Herzegovina. If anything it was mostly given in Bosnia because it's ethnically neutral, so most people don't know your ethnic background. [noted -ed] I think that it was more popular back in 70's and '80's. My father loved it so he wanted me to have it. He let my mom decide between Denis, Srečko and Zlatan, because he knew she would hate other two names.
