Interesting. I think I like it.

I like it, it's a unique flower name. The meaning is bizarre, though...

The flower is cool, but I'd only like it as a name if it didn't mean 'testicles'.

Likewise. There’s also “orchitis.”

One of my guilty pleasures! It's filthy. And "Orchie" (Orky) as a nickname delights me. Not sure I'd ever saddle a real human child with it. But as a self chosen name, or a pet name, or character name: YES.

This is one flower that doesn't translate well into a name. The sound is kind of ugly: Ork.
And if you know your medical terminology, you knwo that orchid means testicle.

I don't really care for it, and its meaning ("testicle") may be problematic for some...

Sounds ugly, and doesn't really evoke anything cool imo. Basically a hothouse flower that looks so much like genitalia, it's like a visual joke. I wouldn't want to be named Orchid. I'd rather be Fuchsia, even. But whatever, it's just a flower name, not difficult, just a bit strange.

It sounds kind of manly and not gentle the way that I would prefer for a flower name to be. I prefer it on a boy but still don't like it.

For a boy?

Foe any gender.

Hardly!

It doesn't sound like a name to me, especially a feminine name. The meaning "testicles" makes it stranger. I would prefer a lot of other flower names to Orchid.
