Almost certainly. Names used by the royals have always been popular on both UK and US charts, wasn't there a surge in Dianas 25 years ago?

I think there is likely to be a surge in girls with the first or middle name Elizabeth born, say, over the next two or three months (before year's end) especially babies whose parents were previously undecided on a name. It's such a beautiful historic timeless name that I would have no hesitation myself!

Definitely within the U.K. yes. I also think there will be an increase in use in other places, but not as highly.

I do, yes. Definitely in the U.K, but also across the "pond" as well. I even suspect it to raise on the charts amongst several countries/territories, even just slightly. In fact, I'll be surprised if it doesn't.

There will probably be a bump up among Hispanics in the USA. They seem to be much more likely to commemorate the death of a celebrity in naming a newborn than other Americans are. Most of the Dianas born in the USA right after Princess Diana's death were Hispanic, and there were major surges in the number of babies named Selena and Valentin after the murders of Selena (Quintanilla Perez) and Valentin Elizalde, respectively.

Maybe. Mine is 4 months old and a lot of people ask me if I named her after the Queen.

I named my first daughter Caroline and a friend (!) asked if it was after the then Princess of Monaco ... I still can't get my head around that! And my current daughter is Beatrice Elizabeth Anne, and she sometimes speaks to me sternly about giving her not one, not two but three royal names. She knows perfectly well that they are all family names, but that doesn't stop her from disciplining me for a change.

I see memes about how terrible the queen was all the time. Granted, it’s mostly zoomers.
But I still feel like parents would stay away from in for a bit just because of… controversy??? Idk. I know I would but I can’t quite put my finger on why.

Let me rephrase this: I wouldn’t name my kid Elizabeth if I were having a kid rn because I know a lot of my friends (who most definitely dislike her) would make bad remarks on it. It’s a boring name anyway and I’m not super crazy about the queen. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s a really bad person though, but I could be wrong. I just don’t feel like reading up on it. So I’m not really on either side.

She wasn't... Don't listen to such baseless claims. I'm not claiming to be her number one fan or anything, but there's plenty of reasons for why Queen Elizabeth the 2nd was admired and adored throughout the world, and not just because of her long and memorable reign. Far as royals go, she was pretty cool and chill, for a lack of a better terminology.
