Oh, this is a good one...Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard named their daughter...
...Lincoln Bell.
A girl named Lincoln. Thoughts?

Dislike.
I like that Bell is the middle name for three reasons. It is mom's last name; it is a real name (Belle) and it is a word name that sems trendy among celebrities. But I really don't like Lincoln for a girl. It seems like it is the year of Lincoln but that will only make it more dated. Plus it isn't remotely feminine. And Lincoln Bell makes me think of the Liberty Bell, a historical item, not a person.

My mother said that if I don't have anything nice to say that I shouldn't say anything at all.
It's pretty bad. It just sounds ugly to be completely honest. I don't care that's it's maybe a bit too on the masculine side or anything, just the sound is awful. I would dislike it just as much on a boy. They seem like a cute couple though, maybe the name will grow on me.
Ugly. Lincoln Bell sounds like a historic site or landmark or something. It does not sound like a good name for a girl. Bleh.
I was so disappointed!! As soon as I saw the article, I said, "Oh no, they didn't?" Not a girly feminine name at all.
Why not - there are enough little female children named Kennedy running around, not to mention Reagan! Clinton would be worse, as would Washington.
What's really weird, though, is that I used to know a South African Kristen Bell! I'm not sure about the spelling, actually - it's a long time ago and I never knew her well - but it certainly wasn't Christine. Might have been Kristin. Real party animal, used to come to school with last night's eye makeup still in place. I've never heard of the Bell-Shepard parents, but I'm guessing showbiz.

Actually, I think Bush would be the worst presidential name to bestow upon a girl.
Is it Lincoln Bell Shephard or did they give her Mom's last name?
Yes, her full names is Lincoln Bell Shepard.
It sounds like a paddle-wheel steamboat crammed with elderly tourists listening to a second-rate jazz combo.
LOL
Double Post-Sorry!
Wow, that's not even remotely feminine. When will modern parents learn that there are plenty of girl's names you can choose that aren't frilly? E.G. Margo, Margaret, Edith, Sybil, Isobel, Samantha, Minerva, etc.
Lincoln Bell makes me think of a type of historical bell, like the Liberty Bell. Thumbs down.

True, but the names you listed don't have the same sort of trendy sound that Lincoln does.
I know, unfortunately. Trendies/tryndees can eat me. :P
I don't really mind Lincoln for a boy even though I wouldn't use the name myself, but I dislike it for a girl.
Blech.
Should've named her Liberty. Teehee.

Oh oh..
It's bad to post this on a message board - Jessica Simpson might be getting some even crazier ideas for here kids names...

Thats what i thought. A girl named Lincoln. Wow. When i first read it i thought it said Liberty Bell. LOL
I'm getting my historical references mixed up. The first image in my mind was of the Liberty Bell. (They could always have used that...)
Lincoln. For a girl. Nope, just can't do it. On a boy I might have liked it, I'm not sure.

I really dislike Lincoln on a girl there is nothing even remotely feminine about it. The sound of Lin isn't LYN it is LEEN, the coln part doesn't sound feminine. It has no good nn's unless you choose to do Lin and pronounce it like Lynn, but truthfully I find Lynn to be really boring.
I like that they gave her the mn Bell, I just really wish that they chose something other than Lincoln.

I don't like it that much on a boy. Really dislike it on a girl.
(And 24 parents used it for their daughters in 2011 so they don't even earn originality points).
it's cool that they used Bell as a middle name though.
