Lila, Lyla, Laila - lie-lah Layla, Leyla - lay-lahLeila - lee-lah Lila is my favourite (Lilah is my most favourite)
My aunt is Laila (said lie-lah, my grandma is Danish and said she picked this spelling because that's how it would be there?)
I don't mind Layla, but I really dislike the sound of lee-lah however it is spelled.

LAY = rhyme play, LYE = rhyme byeLayla, Leila, Leyla = LAY-la
Laila = either LAY-la or LYE-la
Lila, Lyla = LYE-laI like Leila the best, and Lyla is nice. I don't really like the sound of either one, though. The spelling Layla bugs me because it has the word lay in it.

Layla, Laila and Leyla I would pronounce LAY-lha. Leila I would pronounce LEE-lha. Lila and Lyla as LYE-lha. My favorite us definitely Laila. I like the others as well, but I do think a Leyla would always have their name misspelled.

LailaI would pronounce Lela and Leela as LEE-lə but you didn't mention those. My least favorite spelling for both pronunciations is Laila. I don't like the look but I also dislike that it can be pronounced both ways.I prefer the name LIE-lə. My favorite spelling for LIE-lə is Lila. I do like Lyla but I definitely prefer Lila. My favorite spelling for LAY-lə is Leila but Layla is a close second.

LylaI pronounce these as LIE-luh. This name is just okay to me. It seems incomplete, like a form of Delilah or something. BTW, I like Delilah too and have it in mind for a future pet.

Layla: How it looks, LAY-luh. It's one of my cousin's names, and I can't really imagine it being said any other way. I'd say Leila, Laila, and Leyla the same way,
Lila: LEE-luh
Lyla: LIE-luh I think my favourite would be Layla or Lila. I just prefer the sound of both of them, and Lila (with that pronunciation) reminds me of Futurama too, sound wise (she was Leela) which is cool. If I had to actually name a child Layla or Lila I'd go for the latter to avoid accidental honouring since I'm not closer to her than any of my other cousins or anything.

In Swedish the pr. would be:
Layla - LYE-luh
Leila - LAY-luh
Laila - LYE-luh
Leyla - LAY-luh
Lila - LEE-luh (Swedish word for purple)
Lyla - LEE-luhLaila is Saami from the beginning. It's pretty common in northern Sweden. I work with a Laila and I also have a relative called Laila. It's pronounced LYE-luh.In English I would pronounce Layla, Leila and Leyla LAY-luh, but I would pronounce Lila and Lyla LYE-luh.
They are all OK names, but I prefer the Saami name Laila.

Hi !!!Leila and Laila are the better Italian spelling.
I know a Leila personally. But I prefer the spelling Layla.
It is more similar to the Arabic transcription.
It is because it has a long "i" which is better transcribed with y while the "i" is better for the transcription of a short i like in bit.Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee
