Celeb BA
Couldn't see this discussed here anywhere but I just read that actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers and wife Mara Lane named their son Wolf.I love Wolf, it's my guilty pleasure name and I'd definitely use it as at least a middle name. WDYT?

I mean... as far as celebrities go, I've heard way worse. But if the average person told me their son's name was Wolf, I'd think the parents were either trying too hard to be bada$$, or just dyed-in-the-wool hippies.

Can't say I love it, but there are worse names. And I do like Wolfgang.

It's so typically celeb-baby-name it isn't even funny. It sucks as a name anyhow; same as its celeb-baby twin Bear.

I usually like animal names, like Cat, Bear and Wren, but Wolf just really isn't my style. There's something about it that says "trying too hard to be tough," in my opinion. It also doesn't help that the only association with it is Wolf Blitzer. All this is just my opinion, so it's extremely subjective.

It looks cool on paper. But, if I imagine addressing my son as Wolf dozens of times a day ... I think I'd feel like it was sort of ridiculous. Because of the sound. I think I'd feel like I was barking, like a dog, because it sounds too much like "woof."

Its fine. Not that I like it a lot, its not terrible.

Dreadful, unless it's a puppy.

I can totally picture Jonathan Rhys Meyers as a Wolf, so I feel like his son will wear it well. I happen to really love this name. I prefer it as a nickname for Wolfram or Wolfgang. I'm not sure if I'd use it or not. I might prefer it as a middle name.
