HelpRe: Skadi and Freya - I need some people from Scandinavia to answer (and everyone else too!) :D

Skadi is pretty close to the word Skade [Skah-deh], which means "damage" in Danish and Norwegian. I didn't notice it before you mentioned it, but I guess I would have seen it pretty soon anyways. It kind of sounds like a masculine Icelandic name to me. The name is pretty interesting and unfamiliar, because I've never heard anything of this figure when we were thaught about Norse Mythology in Primary School.
Freya is usually pronounced similarly to FRAY-ah in Norway, but FREH-yah is not too far off either. I've never heard anyone pronounce it FRY-a, so that might be the German way of pronouncing it. I'm actually more used to Frøya. The ø is pronounced similarly the i in "bird".
