Re: Thoughts on these names
I'd prefer Jairus to Japheth if you want another J name. Otherwise, Abel rather than Boaz, which sounds like the bark of a large dog. Sonny could be a nn for any boy name under the, er, sun, so there doesn't seem much point in making it the full name. Anyway, it doesn't sit well on an adult. Same with Billy, though William or even Billson would be fine. I always prefer a fn that provides options: any William can be Billy with ease, but no Billy can ever be William without lots of paperwork.Keep us posted, please - this is getting fascinating!

Haha, thanks! At this point I'm throwing all sorts of names at DH to try and find something he likes! He just keeps suggesting "boring" names or ones I don't really want to use for one reason or another. We do both like Moses (but don't think it fits with our other kids names, as it's a lot heavier), Rufus (though I don't think I can see us with a DS named Rufus), Felix and Silas. We both like Remi as a short form of Remiel, but worry people will assume Remi is a girls name. We will get there, we always do! :)

I love Moses and would use it in a heartbeat of it didn't clash with our surname. Gavin don't see it as a heavy name myself. In regards to Remi. Around here Demi is the girls spelling and Remy is the boys. I really really like Remiel
