Zoom, MN after miscarriage.
Couple things. WSDYT of Zephyr for a boy? Its a name thats always been on the back burner for me, but lately its coming up a lot in my head. I was joking around with BF and said we can nn him Zoom (LN is M) and use the middles Otto Owen. Sooo....
WDYT of Zephyr Otto Owen M..? Cheesy? A big fat no go? Or could it work? Maybe another O name instead? Also thoughts on Zephyr Micah?WDYT of using a name that you named your miscarriage (my daughters name is Stella) for a MN? Example - Ivy Stella. Is that bad or cheesy or rude? I was told it was weird and I shouldnt reuse names. But Stella isnt here with me, so my next best thing is to use it on my next daughter. If that makes sense. Other names on my list that Im curious about youre opinion are Poppy
Zara
AmelieTristan
Ronan
Tobias
Rhett

I think you could use Zephyr Micah and call him Zoom. I call my nephew Berry because of a running joke and it has nothing at all to do with his name (Logan James)As to using Stella, as long as you and your partner are comfortable using it I don't see a problem.Poppy is insipid. I like the imagery but it's too youthful for me. I know at least ten Poppies under ten, and I'm bored.Zara was a common name for my age group (I had four in my year at school in the early 2000s) but I like it. Zara Poppy is a cute combo.Amelie is boring. Emily, Amelia, Amelie, Milly, Ellie all run together.Tristan is one of my favourite names. It's recognisable but not common, masculine bit soft. Ronan is lovely too. I wish I had another association beyond Ronan Keating though.Tobias is handsome, and Toby is adorable.Rhett is harsh and abrupt. If you're not opposed to two middle names my vote goes to Zara Poppy Stella.

Not a fan of Zephyr, but I don't mind the Zoom idea; it's a little goofy but also fun.
I'm sorry for your loss. I think it's totally fine to use a late family member's name as a middle, and am all for meaningful middle names. Ivy Stella is nice.I like Zara, Tristan & Ronan.

I don't like the Zephyr combo. I think it's goofy.I think using the name of a miscarried child as a middle for a living child is...antiquated? But fine? At any rate, I can't see it being a problem. And Ivy Stella is pretty.

I wouldn't use Zoom as an "official" NN (like something he'd write on school papers), but as an occasional one, it works okay. My cousin has a kid named James NN Jett and sometimes they call him Jetter; Zoom reminds me of Jetter.I don't like Zephyr much, though: it sounds incomplete because when I hear Zeph, I expect Zephaniah (it's like expecting to hear Stefano or Stephanie and being told Steffer instead - doesn't seem namey to me).
Ivy Stella is nice. I think it's fine to use Stella, especially if that's meaningful to you.I like how bright and energetic Poppy seems, but it's too boisterous for me personally; it also makes me think of morbid poetry ("In Flanders Fields" "Poppies in July" "Poppies in October").Zara seems kind of trendy exotic but in a very likable way (sort of like Yasmin?)I hate Amelie. I think it's insipid.
Tristan - IMO it's over the top Romantic: a protagonist in a tragedy, plus sounds like "tryst" and "triste (sad)". I know a pimply teenage one, and it just seems geeky.Ronan - it's okay/handsome. My favorite of all the masculine names mentioned.Tobias - I want to like it, because Toby is sweet, but it's "too bias"Rhett - I feel like it should seem ugly, but I don't mind it

I really like Zephyr. I think I like it more every time I see it.
I probably wouldn't go so far out of my way for a nickname, as to choose two O middles. But there's nothing wrong with it. It's just one of those things that will be a little embarrassing as an adult (imagine meeting a man your age who says "My initials spell 'whiz' - my parents chose it that way on purpose"), but it would not be humiliatingly cheesy. Just a little eccentric. I think Zephyr Otto Owen M sounds fine.I hear 'firm' and 'Formica' in Zephyr Micah, and I'm no fan of the name Micah for boys. But it's still a usable combo.I think it's fine to use Stella again. The only thing that matters is how you and your bf feel about it. I guess if you don't want to keep quiet about it in order to avoid busybodies' disapproval, that's a reason not to do it. But it's something I might do... I am not that superstitious about names. Not everyone names children who don't make it to late term, anyway - doing so is really only for the family in the first place, it's not the same as if it were the public identity of a person.I dislike the name Poppy for a lot of reasons but mostly just because it sounds goofy.
I like Zara a lot.
Amelie is okay. Too similar to Emily and Amelia for my taste; I'd rather Emilia.
I like Tristan a lot.
Ronan is nice.
I dislike Tobias.
Rhett is not my style but it's likeable imo.

I had a miscarriage at 19 weeks at New year and I can't imagine using the name we have them to another child. It's there name even though we can't be with them so no I wouldn't re-use Stella if I was you. Zephyr isn't my style but I like Micah I really like Zara and Tobias

Would you use your parents name if they passed away as a MN for your child or no because its already used?

I like Zephyr. I think using two O names to make Zoom is cheesy and dumb. But if you actually like those names and would use them regardless of the acronym, I think that's fine. If you do use them I think Zephyr Owen Otto flows much better than Zephyr Otto Owen. Zephyr Micah is okay, I'm not crazy about it personally but there's nothing wrong with it.I think using your daughter's name as a MN for your next child is perfectly fine, as long as that's what you want to do, other people shouldn't really have an opinion. I don't think it's weird, and I wouldn't consider it to be "reusing" the name, I would consider it to be honoring a member of your family, just like people honor their parents and grandparents by using their names. Ivy Stella is a beautiful combo.
Poppy - It seems very insubstantial and childish. There are better flower names out there, that would suit a person and not a child's doll.
Zara - I like it, it has a nice sound and meaning and is simple but seems interesting.
Amelie - Love this, it's beautiful.Tristan - It's okay but it reminds me of the Spanish word triste, meaning sad.
Ronan - Love it.
Tobias - I like it enough.
Rhett - It's okay. I want to like it but it reminds me a little of the words retch and wretch.

I like Zephyr. I've liked it for years. It's unique while still having plenty of history and meaning to keep it "grounded."If you really like Otto and Owen and want to use those, go for it, but I wouldn't use them just to call him "zoom." Zoom does seem cheesy to me. (I'm a comic fan and Zoom is a villain in the DC comics.)Conversely, I really really like Zephyr Micah.---As for Stella, I don't think there's anything wrong with using Stella as a middle name for another child as an honoring kind of thing, but if I did, I would probably use two middle names so she feels like she has her own first and middle name and not her name and then her sister's name... If that makes sense.
Ivy Stella Amelie (or whatever) instead of just Ivy Stella.I think the decision on whether or not you choose to use the name of a miscarried child is completely up to the parents of the child and shouldn't be influenced by others' opinions because no one else can decide what's right for you in that kind of personal situation.
Personally, I probably wouldn't do it because it would make me a little sad whenever I told people my new daughter's name or thought about it, but if it doesn't make you sad and instead makes you happy, then that's equally understandable and not something that anyone can judge you for. It's just a 100% personal thing, I think.
I love the name Stella. As for the other names:Poppy -I like it, but I don't love it because I also know grandfathers called "Poppy." And also because you know somebody's gonna call her "Pop."
Zara -nice. I also like Zahra and Zahrah.
Amelie -sweet and I like how it agesTristan -lovely, underused
Ronan -I want to like this, but I'm always a little unsure about it.
Tobias -I like it pronounced toh-BYE-us, but not toh-BEE-us.
Rhett -nms. I can't separate it from Gone with the Wind.

Stella isn't here, but you did give her that name, and to me that shows you consider her to have been a full-fledged member of the family. If Stella had died as a toddler, for instance, you wouldn't use her name for the next baby, would you?I think Zephyr is a dumb name on either a boy or a girl. It sounds like a brand of air-freshener spray, like you might use in a public restroom. And yes, Zephyr Two-O-Middle-Names plus M to make Zoom is cheesy. Cartoonish.I like Tristan pretty well.

I think I would consider using Stella as a MN if she had passed as a toddler. Just as a memory of her.
