Madalphine
A friend of mine came across the female name Madalphine in her family history (in the US). Have you ever heard of it, or a similar name? What do you think of it?I can't find it anywhere. All I find is a male submitted name on BTN, Madalfrid, which is said to be ancient Germanic.Any ideas about the origin of Madalphine, or do you think it was made up by her parents?

Interesting name, but it makes me think "mad dolphin" or "mad alpine"...
I would guess it's a combo of Madeleine and Josephine or similar. I've never seen it before.

Considering nothing at all comes up in online searches of it, and it doesn't sound like it comes from a language with a different alphabet, I'd assume it's made-up. I'd guess from Madalina + Josephine or Seraphine. But it could still originate from Madalfrid...or at least, it could be connected to Alfred (Alfie?). It reminds me of Alverdine which supposedly originates from Alfred.

It looks like a mashup of Madeleine and Josephine or any other -phine name to me. I'm not a fan of it.

Maybe it was some kind of mash-up of 2 separate names? Madaline and Delphine perhaps? That’s my best guess!

My guess as well.

It sounds like a chemical, to be honest. Like some spray you shouldn't use around an open flame.

Ha! Yeah, I didn't say it was beautiful!
