Suggestions for Kate. Katerina, Katherine, ..?
My aunt's middle name is Katherine, and she goes by Kat. My middle name is Kaye (but I wasn't named after my aunt). Since my family unintentionally started a trend, I would consider using the (nick)name Kate.I really like the name Katerina as a first name, but am concerned people might overlook the "e" and just see Katrina. Do you think this will happen commonly? (Since the hurricane over a decade ago, Katrina doesn't have a good connotation where I'm from.)Another consideration is that I would like to use two middle names - one would be Lynn. Any suggestions for Katerina ____ Lynn?If I used just Kate, it would probably be relegated to a middle name. Any suggestions for ______ Kate Lynn?

How about Katarina or Katharina if you think that people will miss the E in Katerina. The A suggests to me that there is a distinct sound between Kat and Rina that the E doesn't necessarily.
Kate Lynn seems a bit odd to me, since you could use Caitlin/Kaitlin which are also variants of Katherine. It's a bit like Emma-Lee as two separate names.

I adore Katerina. It's what I wanted to name my first dd. DH and I had planned to call her Katie and we also agreed that he'd choose the mn since I chose Katerina. He ended up choosing Nicole as the mn which didn't flow with Katerina at all so I went with Katherine. After she was born, I truly wanted to name her Katherine (or Katerina) Joy and he nixed that (sniff!). Anyway, our dd now goes by Kate and has since she was 14 since there were sooo many girls named Katie at school (most of them Katelyn, Kaitlin, Kaitlyn, etc.). She much prefers Kate. I also briefly, briefly toyed with the idea of Mary Katherine (nn Mary Kate) but ultimately felt it might be perceived as the name of a nun or too pious. My reasoning was silly at the time because a name is a name and I still do really like Mary Kate. So sweet! It's funny because her partner is named Ashley and they potentially could have been Mary Kate and Ashley! :-)So yes, I love Katerina and would love to see it being used. No, I do not think people would confuse it for Katrina (which is also nice). BTW, I've only known one person with this name. Her mother actually went to the same church at the time and named her dd Katarina Ariel (different spelling, obviously). As for mns, I won't suggest anything since you've gotten great suggestions so far.

I think Katerina is gorgeous, and the nn Kate is sweet and classic. Some people might just see Katrina, but that's an easy correction to make - especially if she almost always goes by Kate anyway.I'm actually having a hard time coming up with Katerina ____ Lynn combos... maybe Katerina Iris Lynn? Katerina Lynn _______ seems to flow much better with lots of names:
Katerina Lynn Charlotte
Katerina Lynn Rose
Katerina Lynn Victoria

I'd use Katherine as the mn. But if you don't want to do that, why not consider Caitlin or Katelynn instead of Kate Lynn? You could still use two mns - I think it's a very good idea - though I wouldn't use Katelynn in any of its spelling variations as the fn. Talitha Katelynn Ruth would work for me; or Antonia Katelynn Mary.

I think Katerina wouldn't get mixed with Katrina , 2 completely separate names. With those 2 MN why not Katelyn. I think Katerina is a lovely name. Other first names Amy, Ava, Abigail, Gabriella, Isabella, Heidi, Josephine, Bianca, Eliza, Felicity, Imogen, Lara, Laura, Miranda, Matilda, Natalie, Natalia, Olivia, Phoebe, Tessa, Susannah, Vanessa, zoe

I don’t know about people overlooking the -e-, but I wouldn’t be very surprised if people did. I like Kate all by itself, it’s cute and spunky and tough. If I did Katerina it would be with something shorter...maybe...
Katerina Audrey Lynn
Katerina May Lynn
Katerina Jade Lynn
Katerina Mary Lynn
Katerina Macy Lynn
Katerina Jacie LynnI might do Kate with something like..
Kate Victoria Lynn
Kate Isobela Lynn
Kate Sofia Lynn
Kate Natalia Lynn
Something with 2 or 3 syllables to make Kate stand out a bit.For a middle...
basically the same as above.
Victoria Kate Lynn
Isobella Kate Lynn
Marina Kate Lynn
Heidi Kate LynnAlthough alliteration with K’s sounds very nice to me...
Kylie Kate Lynn
Khloe/Chloe Kate Lynn
Kelsey Kate LynnAnd I’m sure you’ve already thought of it, but the Kate Lynn part just sounds like Caitlyn/Katelyn/Kaitlyn etc.

I had a friend named Elisabeth and she had problems with people overlooking the S. Like if she won an award at school, even the administration would misspell it. Which is one reason I fear Katerina would be mistaken for Katrina.Yeah, if I used two middle names, I would definitely go shorter for the one between Katerina and Lynn. Katerina Jade Lynn is pretty nice.I'm reluctant to use just Kate as a first name because I know most people would assume it's a nickname. And I'm sure it would be annoying to constantly tell people that it doesn't stand for anything, that it's just Kate. People, for whatever reason, just wouldn't expect the same of Kate as a middle name.I did think of the Kate Lynn / Kaitlyn thing. (If I went that route though, I would probably go with Caitlin nn Cait.) Just thought it would be interesting to see what people came up with as a first name for ___ Kate Lynn before either scraping Lynn or combining them.
