I do think it's frilly but in a mostly pleasant way (as you said, upbeat). I don't know if I'd call it sophisticated, but it's not unsophisticated; it's a classic.

My first thought was Annabelle and Olivia together. I could also see it going well with Athena, Camila, Mariah, Penelope, Dahlia, or Beatrix.
