I immediately think boy, because the closest sounding name I think of is Desmond, but I wouldn't be that surprised if it was a girl's name.
I'd also put it in the same category as London and Berlin, since it's primarily a city: sounds industrial. And it seems geeky, maybe about like Dexter.
I'd think it was connected to the TV show, which I've never seen before but have managed to hear about somehow.
It also reminds me of the Dresden Dolls, which was a "punk cabaret" duo/band.
