Abigail or Annabel - Hm. I'm no fan of Abigail, but Annabel seems bratty to me. I like this spelling of Annabel, but Abigail is a stronger name overall. And I like nn Gail a lot. So Abigail.
Adelaide or Adeline - errr I dunno. I'm neutral to these names. They both make me hear "addle." Addle laid, or Addle line? Put an A instead of E on the end of either one, and I almost like both. Adelina "-eena" would be my preference.
Cassandra or Cassiopeia - Cassandra. But if it's a middle name, I need Cassiopeia instead.
Cecilia or Cecily - Cecily I guess, they're about the same but Cecily seems nicer. Cicely is even better.
Eleanor or Élodie - Eleanor
Elisabeth or Elizabeth - Z
Francesca or Freya - Francesca. Freya's cool but seems kind of a fad.
Isla or Isobel - Isla.
Lily or Linnéa - Lily?? I'm not into either of these and I have gone through a phase of disliking Lily a lot, but it's passing. And Linnea is seeming boring right now. It's my neighbor's name. She's like 40 and not very nice.
Margot or Marianne - both are neat ... I'd name a baby Margot just because -anne names feel dated to me. Rather Marion or Maria.
Penelope or Persephone - Penelope. Persephone is so breathy and weak, to me. I'm not into Penelope but Penny is cool.
Rosalie or Rosalind - Rosalind, probably. Rosalie seems too sweetened.
Violet or Vivian - Vivian, maybe? I like both of these but I think Vivian would be easier to bear. I'd rather spell it Vivien though.- mirfak
