Like Midler or Davis?Either way, I think it makes a cute nickname but I wouldn't use it as a full name.

A little dated like Betty, but it’s not bad. It could be cute as a nickname as long as the bearer’s last initial isn’t R.

When I first saw this post I read "Better?" and I was like whaaaaaat? I'm not a fan.

I prefer Betty. Bette has pronunciation problems, a stodgy Germanic vibe that I don't love, and an instant association with Ms. Davis and Midler, whereas Betty is more vibrant and gives off a mid-century glam.

Pronounced BET-ee, I like it. I think it's retro-charming. But I would go for the spelling Betty, as I think otherwise it would cause confusion. Pronounced BET, I don't like it.

OK in a French context; elsewhere, it turns into Betty. I'd rather use Elizabeth and hope Bet, Bette or whatever would work as a nn; it would certainly be better than boring Liz and Eliza.

I prefer VH-Wonne (two music channels - BET and VH1) lol it's laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatelol no, but seriously, I love Elizabeth but hate Bette - too old lady. I much prefer Lizzie and Ella as nicknames!
