If it's a merger between Ada and Belle, then I dislike both components but together they are many times worse.

I seriously love a good -bel name, usually the more outlandish the better. Annabel, Rosabel, Christabel, Idabel, Clarabel, Adabel, they are all lovely. Very Southern Gothic, an aesthetic that fascinates me, but I admit that they are a bit.....infantile, maybe? But luckily they are easily shortened to something less cutesy. Adabel is adorable. It does kind of sound like "Ate a bell" though.
