I felt uncomfortable when my kids Friended me on facebook. I'm not their friend, dammit! And naming a child Friend just doesn't work for me at all.

This is getting into "just toss out any random word and decide it's a name" territory.
"Friend" is how old-fashioned Quakers addressed each other. As a first name it is bizarrely impersonal, like Sir or Lady.
