Re: Do you dislike it when names are “devoid of personality”?
I think it is a matter of personal taste. What a boring name with no personality may mean to me may seem beautiful and even original to another person. Normally the names that produce that feeling of not having a personality are usually the most common and popular that you usually come across every day and that is normal. Names such as Matthew, John, Mike, Edward, Mia, Emma, Emily, Jennifer, etc.As I am Spanish, the most normal and lacking personality names that I usually come across are Daniel, Juan, Jorge, David, Laura, Marina, Isabel and Sofía.But of course, they are your tastes and you simply like the names that you like. In my case I find that the names Lauren, Christine or Lisa are very bland, while others like Anneliese, Odette or Clara I love them. Recently my cousin named her daughter Chloe and I loved it... until I realized that it is a super used name for a girl now. My friends like names like Leire, Ainhoa, Natalia, Lidia or Alba, which I have no particular opinion. They are not bad, but there are better.Anyway, it's just an opinion and it doesn't really affect your life at all.
