I love it. My husband isn't crazy about it because it's a very religious name to him, and that makes me sad! I wish we could both like it.

How is it very religious
I guess in Spain the Virgin Mary has a title related to Paloma, and in his experience only really old people/conservative families use Marian titles as names.
She does! Her title is Virgen de la Paloma (Virgin of the Dove) or Nuestra Señora de la Paloma (Our Lady of the Dove), and she is regarded as a minor but popular patron saint of Madrid, hence why the name is most common there (https://es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgen_de_la_Paloma_de_Madrid).
Ah yes, thanks for the info! I think I actually stayed on the street where they start the festival celebrating this, Calle de Paloma. There was a church on the street named after this Mary!
