Alar
I recently heard this name, and wondered about the meaning, but it's not in the database. I was thinking it might possible come from the name Alaric, but I really have no idea. Does anyone know what this name means? Have you heard it before?--Aidan

This name means the son of Aric (Old Eric). It is Norwegian, Viking type, in orgin. Look in books about Noway, Viking History, and possibly Ireland for this name.

I seem to recall "Alar" was a type of pesticide used on apples some years back. Turned out to be carcinogenic, I bleev. Not the best association...: (
