I noticed this name Tatiana in particular because I have recently read a book with a character Tatiana. She is Russian. In the book she has a variety of pet names including Tania, Tatia and Tatiasha. The author gives the idea that each of these indicate different levels of affection. Is that so and if so, in what way? Also, do you know how they are pronounced?Thanks so much,

Tanja is indeed a pet name, Tatia and Tatiasha aren't Russian names
In ascending level of affection there're Tanjusha and Tanechka, unusual but possible, Tat'yanochka, Tanjushechke or very rare TataTatiana is pronounced as ta- t'(stop) -yana, like Il'ich
