Two meanings (one derivative) are shown on German-language name sites:1) The name derives from Old German, from the elements "sigu" (victory) and "linde" (meaning a linden-wood shield). Thus, it would mean "shield of victory".2) Another site may refer to Sieglinde as Siegfried's mother in giving the meaning as "die Siegzauberin", which is very cool. This would translate as "the sorceress of victory".- Da.
