copyright a name? John(c)
Is it possible to copyright your name if you are 100% sure that no one else in the entire world has or has ever had that name.Could that be legally possible? On the otherhand why would anyone do that? If the first John had done that, then would it mean there would be no Johns in the world today? because he would have been able to sue anyone with that name (assuming copyright laws existed then).

I think you want a trademark, not a copyrightTry http://www.loc.gov/copyright. They have the rules and regulations pertaining to what can and cannot be copyrighted. I think you are thinking about trademark (like Tony the Tiger is a trademark, Winie the Pooh is a trademark, Behind the Name.com is a trademark [I think], etc.)Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

Rhbeen the Pooh could be trademarked; quite a euphemism, if you ask me :P
