Possibly means "my father is great" in Hebrew (in which case the second element makes it a relative of JETHRO). In the Old Testament Abiathar was the only Jewish high priest to escape from a massacre ordered by King Saul. It also belonged to a 4th-century Georgian Orthodox saint, the first person Saint Nino converted to Christianity.
