I think the name Bianca is okay but I personally don't like the "ca" sound in it and I don't look like a Bianca at all even all of my friends told me that. I have wavy dirty blond hair and a warm skin tone and that doesn't fit the description of Bianca at all. The name also seems a bit annoying to me and whenever my family members say my name they say it like they are whining. I also don't act like a Bianca at all. My parents were going to name me Sylvia or Ariana and I think one of those names would fit much better.

I don't get how people like it, it always feels like I'm left out because it sounds like I'm foreign.
Honestly, this name sounds bitchy to me.

In my whole lifetime no one ever has said anything about my name but to tell me it's beautiful. It is very ironic that I'm whiter than my twin. I have only met one Bianca in my life and seen the name in a story twice. It is unique and elegant. It may be because I have a Spanish accent while saying it but it is a lovely name. The only downsides are the nicknames.

This name is lovely, in every way. I love Shakespeare, I also love Italian names. It's pure and a seemly innocent name for a beautiful girl. However, sometimes people with this name aren't exactly the nicest, but it is still a graceful name. When I have a daughter, her name might be Bianca Marie. I love the nickname Bambi, but not so much Bia.
Bianca... what a nice name! So pretty and sophisticated :)
Hm... well, I don't know about elsewhere, but here in the UK, this name IS seen as very chavvy and trashy. The character in Shakespeare was basically a prostitute, so I don't really see this as a positive connotation...

I love this name, not only does it sound pretty but it's my sweetheart's name.
I have a friend named Bianca. She told our lunch group a little story: I don't remember the circumstance, but she met an Italian guy and he said "Oh, your name's Bianca; you must be Italian!" She replied "No, I'm not." "Yes, you are!" the man continued to insist. The exchange went on like that until one of them gave up or left, I don't remember. Then she said to us, "Some people from foreign countries just don't understand that in America, we use other countries' names, and we don't have to be Italian or whatever to have Italian names." At first I thought Bianca sounded sort of harsh, but it's grown on me. I especially like Bianca Rose, because I like white roses which are so fragrant. Bella Bianca Rosa, "Beautiful White Rose!" I still haven't warmed up to the anc sound, though. When I first met my friend named Bianca I thought it sounded ghetto, probably because ghetto names are more common than Italian names in my area, and the anc sound. Then I remembered that in ancient Egyptian, "ankh" meant life (anc would be the ultra-anglicized pronunciation). So I would give my daughter the middle name of Biankha, but it looks, seems, and is a terrible modern kre8tiv misspelling, and I never like it when people do that. All in all, a lovely name.
Personally I like the name Bianca. It certainly has an exotic but refined sound. The only problem is it's not a name that can be easily used in the USA. I once went to school with a girl named Bianca and she was often teased by kids and adults. Her name was also misspelled a lot. Even with all that, I still like the name.
I think that this name is very pretty and gorgeous.

I don't like it! The "-ka" sound is really harsh and mean sounding.
Not to be racist, but I once knew a girl with this name who was black, so the meaning was a bit ironic.
I saw the most ironic and unintentionally hilarious use of this name on the Maury show some years back. A very dark-skinned man was denying he was the father of his very fair-skinned ex-girlfriend's very fair-skinned baby because she was too light. (She did turn out to be his.) The baby's name was Bianca, which literally means "white." Did the young lady not know what her daughter's name meant, and how funny that would look in light of her situation?
This is really chavvy/trashy in some countries. The equivalent of using Brandy or Sharlene. It's strange how a nice Italian name could be considered trashy elsewhere.

Annoying and chavvy name.

This connotation was recognised by earlier generations hence Shakespeare used as the name of characters he wanted the audience to know were beautiful even though men would be playing the roles & props were limited in his time!
Well this is my name, my father, being a big fan of the Rolling Stones and rock n' roll in general, named me after Bianca Jagger, who I believe, was Mick Jagger's first wife? I love my name, I love the fact that it has to do with the Rolling Stones, since I am a big fan of classic rock n' roll thanks to my father. :)
Czech and Slovak form is Běla.
Bianca is used in Kiss Me Kate, which is of course yet another adaption of Taming of the Shrew. For some reason, though the names of all the other actors in the play-within-a-play are different from their characters (Lilli plays Katherine/Katharina, Billy plays Lucentio and Fred plays Petruchio), Bianca is the actress playing Bianca.
I always associate this with Bianca de Nevada, the surrogate Snow White of Gregory Maguire's fabulous novel Mirror, Mirror. Bianca is a really sweet, curious character, so I think of this as a very sweet, gentle name, but with a little kick of intelligence.
Ugly, ugly, ugly. Not only is this name harsh sounding, it's one of the most unfeminine names I've ever heard. It's also a bit of a tongue twister for other little kids to pronounce. Please think twice before naming your daughter this.

For me, Bianca is the most beautiful female name in the world. It is my wife's name. Oddly, she was born in Den Hauge, but her family vacationed in Italy and picked up the name there. I think mostly she likes her name, but if you call our house and cannot pronounce her name correctly, you cannot talk to her. =) The only thing the name lacks is a nickname. A lot of her friends simply call her "B" because you just cannot shorten Bianca.
Sounds like the name of a breath spray once marketed in the US! Still, I like the sound of it and it's better than Alba, which is another name that means "white".
When I was younger I didn't like my name. I always said I'm gonna change it when I get older. But now I like it. My name is GLAMOROUS!

I'm only 11, but lately after discovering Shakespeare, I like my name Bianca. It's classic, and I love old stuff. Romeo and Juliet, Phantom of the Opera, I love my name. Well, like. It could be better. But still - it's pretty beautiful, and I wouldn't immediately change it. Unless my friends agreed to call me Luna, that's when I would go and change it.
Not my style of name, I find it cold and harsh.
It is also used in Romania. [noted -ed]
This name is fair; but it reminds me of the Disney movies, The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under, in which a little white mouse was named Bianca. She was French, which doesn't make sense since the name is Italian. The French form would be Blanche, which is a rather ugly name pronounced the English way; in French it is ok.
Actually, Miss Bianca from the Disney Rescuers films is Hungarian not French. She was voiced by Hungarian actress Eva Gabor.
Absolutely beautiful, full of European flair and Shakespearean grace.
My name is Bianca, I think it's a little annoying at times but everyone tells me how gorgeous and rich it is. It is a bit funny that I'm almost 100 percent Italian and I'm like fair skinned but my name also means white.
