I do think it sounds cute! However, I don't like the pronunciation of EE-vuh because it sounds a bit childish. I prefer it to be pronounced EH-vuh because it sounds more mature. As pronounced EE-vuh, I can't really picture it on a grown woman.

Eva is a beautiful, feminine, classy, timeless name. My friend’s mom is an Eva. I definitely prefer Eva to Eve. Eve is a cute nickname for Eva though.

It never grew on me and I can't see it ever growing on me. It's a nice name, but I don't see myself naming my child this. It's much better than "Ava" or "Eve" all around okay. Love y'all Evas!

I find Eva (Eh-vuh) WAY better looking than Ava. This name is so undervalued and it should be in the top 10 most used names.

It's very pretty. I imagine a girl with blond hair and blue eyes. But that's my opinion. Oh and it gives me baked been vibes.

Eva is beautiful, delicate yet strong. One of my best friends has this name and it suits her very well, she has light brown hair and hazel eyes and is the sweetest person. I love her name and also the similar Eve and Evangeline. The meaning “life” is wonderful.

Evie has a more modern feel to it.

I am so sick of people always making my name sound like a plague or something. I love my name because it defines differently from any other name in one way, I have over one hundred brothers and sisters that have similar names to mine and that is amazing because I'll never really be alone and people who's name is Eva are particularly good at giving out karma and revenge, so be careful.

I love the name Eva because it sounds so sweet. I actually prefer this over Eve, which I think is too short. My friend in elementary school had this name.

So, my name is Eva and I don't necessarily love my name, but I have grown to like it. A reason why I don't like it that much I because of how people pronounce it. My mom gave me the name EH-va, but people'll pronounce it EE-va, and even like Ava. I know that it's not necessarily their fault, but I still get annoyed. And I've seen many comments that say it's too short to be a name, or it should just be a nickname, I somewhat agree, but, I have two last names, so my parents wanted a short name. My name goes Eva (Middle Name) (Last Name)-(Last Name). I hope you could understand that. In fact, my nickname, Evita, is longer than my actual name. And I hear people say, "Eve is better" well I'll have you know, that my name is the Spanish form of Eve. Oh, and some people call me "Ev" or "Evs."

I chose to name my daughter Eva. In Russian, we pronounce it Yeh-vah. The letter E sounds like Yeh. It has the exact meaning to Eve, and I thought about naming her that to Americanize it but kept it Eva because I thought it can go both ways. I read that in 2016 it was one of the most popular names in Slavic countries. It’s timeless, sounds nice, easy to spell, recognizable. To me it’s the ultimate female name meaning life. I think it’s powerful and international with a good reputation.

I don't like Eva at all. With any pronunciation. And plus, it reminds me of "WhatEver". If it is pronounced like eh-va, someone might say "Ever" and your daughter would turn to that person, thinking " Did you call me". No, NOT UGLY EH-VA! GO EE-VA! I think the pronunciation eh-vah is by far the most appealing. It's my families pronunciation and it reminds me of my German heritage. I don't think the previous comment about it being "ghetto" is a very educated comment. I do see the problem with it sounding like whatever but I don't think it has to stop someone from using it.

My great aunt and grandmother from italy were both named Eva. I think it is the most beautiful, elegant, timeless and classic name for a girl. I am currently pregnant with my first child and want nothing more than to have a girl so I can name her after the most influential women that ever graced my life.

Oh, gosh, where to start? I just adore this name on so many levels. Beautiful sound, classic without being overused, feminine without being frilly, suits a newborn and her grandmother equally well. Not terribly popular, but not weird either, still familiar and easy to spell/pronounce. Short enough that it doesn't require a nickname, but has the option of two lovely nicknames if you so desire (they can even grow with her - Evie for when she's a little girl, Eve for when she's older). To me, it's just the perfect name.
