Maile is also used as a masculine name in Hawaiian. However, it's more common for females. So, I think that the "Gender" of this name should be changed from "Feminine" to "Feminine & Masculine". Some evidence for this is that Maile is also used as a name element in unisex and masculine Hawaiian names, such as Kamaile.Source: https://forebears.io/x/forenames/maile

My name is Maile. So many people pronounce my name wrong and I’m always having to correct them. The boys in my class sometimes like to joke around and call me Miley Cyrus. I let it go, I have been getting it my whole life. But for the people who were wondering how to say it here’s how: MY-Lee.
My daughter was named after a good friend of mine, who was Hawaiian (she passed away before my daughter's birth). Her name and my daughter's name is Maile. She pronounced her name "My-Lee"... and, we have followed suit with the same pronunciation. It is a beautiful name and spelling.

My name is Maile. For me, It's always been pronounced "My-lee," but on the internet it can be "mai-ley" or even "May-lee" I personally prefer "My-lee" since it's too easy to say. It's spelled simply and kinda complicated but it's really easy to say.
My last name is MAILE and it is pronounced MAIL-E.
When I was 5 years old my mother bought me a baby doll and I named it MaiLei because my daddy, who is 100% Hawaiian said it would be a pretty name. When I was 17 I gave birth to my first daughter and named her MaiLei. I added an "i" to the end to help people pronounce her name correctly since we live on the mainland. 'My lay' is how you pronounce the name! The meaning is a symbolic vine used in special ceremonies like being blessed. The spelling Maile is pronounced the same way as my daughter's name! It's a green vine that is very strong but very spiritual in my culture! People have taken the name way out of context by naming their children Miley which has no meaning and is not related to my culture (the Hawaiian culture). Fyi... my baby doll was named in 1987. My daughter was named in 99!
Maile Duval (played by Joan Blackman) is the longtime girlfriend of Chadwick "Chad" Gates (Elvis Presley) in the 1961 film "Blue Hawaii".
My name is Maile. I was born in Hawaii. We have always pronounced it rhyming with Smiley (which remains the phonetic device I use when explaining my name to people). With my name I have noticed a very slight different between my name and the name Miley, particularly in what part of the name is emphasized. For me the emphasis is a bit stronger on the first part of the name, the Mai, while with Miley I find the emphasis is a bit more on the --ley. I hope this helps!

I don't get where the idea that the Hawaiian e sound is equal to the English one comes from. It is NOT pronounced My-lee, people. Dante is Dan-tay, not Dan-tee, right? But to be fair, most English speakers have a hard time with the Hawaiian e. But if they actually attempted to pronounce it correctly it should come out My-leh or at least My-lay. The correct pronunciation is hard to explain but I'm just so sick of people who know nothing about the Hawaiian language insisting that it's pronounced like Miley. I adore the name Maile but HATE Miley.

How do you say it already. I have been dying to know ever since I read it in a book. The other user comments haven't been helpful; I wish someone name Maile would tell me how to say it! It is an interesting name, though...
This name sounds okay, though not particularly exciting. I hope parents don't start using it as an alternate spelling of the "name" Miley.
Well I have to say it's cool but starting to get way too common, be unique.
