Ranfar

Meaning and origin unknown. This name is borne by the Dutch (protestant) preacher Ranfar Kouwijzer (b. 1973), who occasionally has interviews with the media and also writes columns and articles for Dutch newspapers (such as Trouw). His name is extremely unusual in the Netherlands, to the point that it looks foreign. Yet, he was born in the Netherlands and appears to be of ethnic Dutch descent as well. It looks like his parents might have invented his name. The fact that he is the only bearer of the name on all of Facebook points to this, as does the fact that there is next to no concrete information about the name on the Internet.
