Meaning & History
Meaning uncertain, though the first part of the name may be derived from Latin sacrare "to consecrate" via Anglo-French sacrer. Sacripante is the name of a king in the epic poems "Orlando innamorato" by Matteo Maria Boiardo and "Orlando furioso" by Ludovico Ariosto.
