Very elegant! This is one of my favorites.
Shadow and Revenge  1/4/2021
I had this name on my list but it was shot down by husband and family. I can’t seem to get anyone else on board.
― Anonymous User  12/26/2020
Elegant name :)
mina_sakura  12/15/2020
Absolutely beautiful name, so feminine and classy. There needs to be more Vivienne’s!
― Anonymous User  11/20/2020
Vivienne seems too fancy for my liking. Viviana is just not my taste. Vivien is just trying too hard with spelling. Vivianne is not my taste either. But my Grandmother's name, Vivian, I like a lot better. :)
Anders1234  6/3/2020
Classy and elegant.

Ahhh I absolutely love this name! The spelling and the way it sounds (pronounced viv-ee-en) is so cool and pretty. Not too overused either, at least to my knowledge. The fact that it’s a French name makes it even better :D.
PeachyBlitz  12/16/2019
The only pronunciation I can tolerate is saying it like Viv-ee-en (pronounced like the letter N as in enter). The other spellings don't fit well with the spelling, at least to me. :/
littleraeoflight  11/16/2019
This name is so interesting and the meaning 'alive' truly expresses my personality. Yes my name is Vivienne.
bakingcookies  1/19/2019
I like this name more than the other spellings like Vivian, or Vivien, or anything like that, mostly because this name just feels so elegant, or even special. I'm not saying that Vivian or Vivien, or others like that aren't special, but I love how each letter is repeated twice, and the way it's spelled and sounded.
― Anonymous User  11/29/2018
I also like all the spellings but Vivien is probably my favorite - the others are a little over the top.
― Anonymous User  11/21/2018
I actually like all the spellings of this name. (Vivian, Vivienne, Vivien.)
Luvbug86  9/12/2018
I do not yet know a 'Vivienne' (probably because I am in the UK) but I love this name, and its femininity.
_Steren_  9/11/2017
I like Vivian better, it's less floofy and overdone. Same goes to Vivianne, Viviane, and Viviana.

Vivienne Jolie-Pitt was born on July 12, 2008 in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes, France as Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt. She is an actress, known for Maleficent.
cutenose  4/17/2017
I don't like this spelling, it feels pretentious to me. Vivian/Vivien/Vivienne is a rather plain sounding name, I feel as though Vivienne is trying to make it grander or more elegant than it really is.
― Anonymous User  6/14/2015
Another nickname for Vivienne is Vienna, if you don't like Viv or Vivi.
mommabird  12/19/2014
Not given in France.
luxsword  4/28/2014
I think this name is elegant on a girl, and a few of my of ancestors were named this:)
vixenbria  4/13/2014
This name is actually very rare in France. Fewer than 50 baby girls are named Vivienne every year.
bonjour_mon_joli  8/26/2013
Such a classy, sophisticated, cosmopolitan name-- embellished in the pearls of a pleasantly antiquated past.

My one concern is restricted within the nickname-department... "Viv" or "Vivi" takes to sounding abominably infantile, for my taste. I could certainly foresee the possibility of using "Vinnie" (granted that I have not already put "Vincent"/"Vincenzo" into use) or "Enna" as a diminutive, however.

Vivienne Westwood is a very famous fashion designer, most known for her modern punk and new wave designs.
Grace_Scarlette  8/24/2011
Vivienne is very beautiful. I prefer this spelling over Vivian, which looks dated to me. I just don't really like how popular it's been getting since Brad and Angelina named their daughter it--however, if things go as planned, I'll be using this as a middle name anyhow.
Bunko0  8/5/2011
I love love love this name, but only with this spelling! I love that each letter is repeated twice, it makes it so special! Lovely! Just lovely.
gabbygrace1915  1/1/2011
This name is beautiful! I prefer it over Vivian or Viviana!
Chrila96  10/25/2010
I rather like this French variant of the name; it's quite nice, adaptable to any age range and, in my opinion, one of the only decent names that Brad and Angelina have given to their children. :)
walesgal92  7/24/2010
I think I prefer this spelling above all other variations of the name. This name is very classy and elegant, and I hope it doesn't become overused.
Meadow  7/5/2010
Utterly gorgeous. All class, and sassy, too.
vomiting  4/14/2009
I love this name, and I have long before Brangelina used it on their daughter. Still, I think that they made a good choice in naming her that.
bananarama  11/15/2008
I love this name, and prefer this spelling.
― Anonymous User  8/24/2008
I love love love this name and had set it aside for future daughters. Unfortunately now that Brangelina have decided to use it I'm sure it will become so popular that I will have to choose something else. I don't want my child being one of 5 Vivienne's in her kindergarten class. Darn those two!
kateri17  7/15/2008
Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt and her twin brother Knox Leon were born on July 12 2008.
namefanatic  7/13/2008
This is my favorite spelling of this name (my second favorite is Vivian and I don't like any of the others). It looks and sounds so pretty and classy.
ZoeAliza  3/27/2008
This is a lovely name. It has both an elegant appearance and sound, and the nickname Vivi is adorable for a child. I will consider using this for a future daughter of mine.
Violette  2/23/2008
Love love love love this name. And I love this spelling best! I would totally name my kid this. I think it's gorgeous, a little long but very nice. Viv, and Vivi are nice nicknames.
TIDBIT: each letter in this name appears twice. There are two v's, two i's, two e's and two n's. How cool!
roxhai  3/6/2007

This is the birth name of musician Patti Scialfa, wife of Bruce Springsteen.
― Anonymous User  12/22/2005
This is my favorite spelling of this name. I find it beautiful, classy, and should be more popular than it is.
