Variant form of Chelidonius, which is the proper latinized form of the Greek name CHELIDONIOS.Celedonius (more often written as Celidonius and especially Chelidonius) was the name of a Roman legionary who was martyred with his fellow soldier EMETERIUS around 300 AD. They have since become saints, venerated in both the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Church. Both are the patron saints of the city of Calahorra in the Spanish province of La Rioja, where they are purported to have died.
