[Opinions] Anastasia
WDYTO Anastasia for a girl? I like it, especially since I've always been interested in the last Tsar's family. However, I'm put off by the pronunciation problems. AN-uh-STAY-zha sounds best to me, and that's probably the one I'd go for. But would people forever be saying AN-uh-STASS-ya, AN-a-STAZZ-ee-a etc.?

I think it's a beautiful and classic name. I like the prn. an-uh-stay-zha and ana-stay-zha best. Most people will prn. it w/ the Anne-ah sound.Lovely name.

I like it, and I really don't think it's so totally unheard of that people with mispronounce it.

I love it!
It is what my mum wanted to call me so I would have been Anastasia Catherine or Anastasia Helen :)
My mum would have prounced it anna-stay-zia. Like her grandmother did (who I was going to be named after).- Kitty

I don't care for it. It's too frilly sounding. I pronounce it as An-uh-STAY-zha.

I've never liked it. It's too frilly or pretentious or something. But it also just sounds a bit tacky & gaudy. I've always heard it pronounced an-nah-STAY-zha.

Anastasia is a name that my husband and I briefly toyed with for our last child (Anna). I pronounce it ahn-a-STAH-see-a but am a little put off by the ann-a-STAY-sha pronunciation. It reminds me of anesthesia! I do think that's the way it would be pronounced most often in the US, however. Whatever the pronunciation, it's a beautiful name.

I think people would say ah-nah-stah-zyah, because it's the only way I've heard it prononced.

Out of the pn I like AN-uh-STAY-zha. I would never choose the name myself because it sounds over the top.
