[Facts] Kirkland
I just heard the name Kirkland, which I was told is a form of Kirk, is this true? It must be, right? Any other ideas?

Kirkland means "church land" in Middle English. It is the name of a few towns in Scotland and northern England. The town name became a surname, and it could conceivably be used as a given name.

It may be from the town of Kirkland in Scotland or Kirkland Lake in Ontario.
