I prefer Helena. I like Elena, but it doesn't work as well if the person isn't of Spanish heritage, imo. Though I prefer Elena on any child as opposed to Alana, Alayna, Elaina, etc. I love Helena, and I prefer the prn. that rhymes with Elena (heh-LAY-nah). I don't mind the Helen-ah and heh-LEE-nah, pronunciations but they pale in comparison to the first one imo.

I far prefer Helena, which I like in the heh-LAYN-uh pron. best, followed by HEH-len-uh :-)I also love Elaina and Alayna._____________________________________________________________________"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true."Elinor

Wow, that's a tough one. I'd pronounce Helena hell-en-uh, and Elena uh-lay-nuh. I think I prefer Helena, though.

I love Helena. Elena is nice, but not as good as Helena :-)

Elena...(m)I love this name, a classic, with the nn Lena. It's in the running to be one of my new nieces!

Helena, and Elena could be a nn.

Helena, hands down. Elena sounds odd to me.

I've always adored the name Elena and am happy to see it catching on.I do like Helena too, just not as much. (BTW, I pronounce Helena as "helen + a," not rhyming with Elena.)
