Do you think the name Mariah is too tied to Mariah Carey? I love the name, but I'm worried it's a one-person title, like Madonna.

Not that I have anything against Mariah Carey ... I wouldn't want people thinking I'd blatantly used the name after her, because transient namesakes like singers and sports stars are something I always avoid. WDYT?

I like this name too. I like it better as a mn though, because people will definitely think of Mariah Carey, well that's what I think anyway.

I love the name Mariah. My niece's name is Mariah and she is very pretty. I wouldn't worry about Mariah Carey she's not that big any more anyway. The name Mariah is a old name that has been around for a long time way before Mariah Carey came around!!

I've always been torn about Mariah, I think its sweet but also very connected to Ms. Carey - its just a personal thing. I also like Mara / Marah.

Inside of me there is a skinny girl, screaming to get out but I can usually shut her up with cookies!
