[Facts] The name Eilidh
I came across the name Eilidh (pronounced: aye-lee) it is a Scottish name I believe and a female name.
I have read in a Baby Naming Book recently that Aili is another form of this name, coming from the original name Alice which is german and greek in origin and can mean Truthful or Noble ...
Basically I am wondering if the name Eilidh has a meaning of its own or is it verifiably linked to the name Alice?

Hi there,We named our second child Eilidh, we live in Edinburgh and wanted a traditional scottish name and came across this. According to some details we found it is the Gaelic form of Helen. Which is funny as that is her mothers name!L
