[Facts] Brunhilde?
Could anyone tell me how to pronounce Brunhilde? I know it is supposed to be said brün-hilt but I don't know if the ü is long like "oo" or short like "uh".
Broon-hilt or Bruhn-hilt?Thanx for your help.

Hi Deb!Do you need the _German_ pronunciation? In German the name can be written Brunhilde or Brünhilde but the pronunciation is not the same.Brunhilde: broon-hill-deh (stress on the second syllable)
Brünhilde: brüün-hill-deh (stress on the second syllable)The u and the ü are long vowels but in spoken language they often seem to be short because they are not stressed. !!You clearly hear the e at the end!! If you don't want that - there are other forms as well: Brunhild and Brünhild. ;-)The pronunciation in other languages e.g. French or Swedish will be different!Regards, Satu
